Consumables vs. durables

Why a movement ledger — not just a number that changes?
Because a number that changes cannot explain itself. When inventory is just "14 left", you can't tell whether 14 comes after a delivery, after a treatment or after a typo. In Levion every stock change is a movement with context: a receipt from a supplier, usage in a treatment, or a verified count with a recorded reason. Even a count correction doesn't erase what came before — it is written as a new movement. The result: a complete history you can return to at any moment, and stock numbers your team actually trusts.
What's the difference between consumables and durable goods?
Consumables — syringes, dressings, ampoules — are deducted from stock with every use. Durable goods — devices and instruments that return to service — shouldn't vanish from the count just because they were used. Levion tells the two apart: using a durable item is recorded against the treatment without deducting stock, so the numbers on the shelf stay true.
Orders straight to suppliers
- Sending an order to the supplier directly from the order cart — without leaving the system.
- Automatic supplier notifications when stock falls below a threshold (off by default — the clinic decides if and when to enable it).

What happens when a stock count doesn't match?
You run a verified count and record a reason. The correction is written as a new ledger movement — the quantity updates, but the earlier history is kept in full.
Can we manage suppliers in the system too?
Yes. A full supplier catalogue with regional contacts and service countries, plus a persistent order cart you fill as you work. Sending the order to the supplier straight from the cart is in development.
Does using durable equipment deduct stock?
Not when it shouldn't. The system distinguishes consumables, which are deducted on every use, from durable goods, whose usage is recorded without reducing stock.
